A 14-year-old Russian tennis participant has been banned from the game for 9 months following an anti-doping breach, the Worldwide Tennis Integrity Company (ITIA) has mentioned in a statement on Friday.

The ITIA mentioned the participant, who is not going to be named due to their age, had examined constructive for Meldonium – a metabolic modulator – at a event in January.

The assertion mentioned the participant had admitted to a breach of the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme (TADP) guidelines.

“As a result of participant’s age, stage and lack of entry to Anti-Doping schooling, the sanction was set at 9 months, backdated to the date of the participant’s Provisional Suspension (5 March 2022),” the assertion learn.

“Which means the participant is ineligible to compete in or attend any tennis occasions authorised, organised or sanctioned by the governing our bodies of the game till 4 December 2022.”

One-to-one schooling periods can be offered to the participant, the assertion continued.

Russian athletes are unable to compete underneath their nation’s identify, flag and nationwide anthem at main worldwide sporting occasions till December 16, 2022 after the nation was banned for doping non-compliance.
